LibreOffice Improves On Their Latest Release with the 3.6.1 Update

Yesterday saw the release LibreOffice 3.6.1. An update that continues to improve on an already very stable office productivity suite that’s considered by many to be the perfect alternative to Microsoft Office.

The updates contained in LibreOffice 3.6.1 improve on the following issues found in the major 3.6 update:

*LibreOffice 3.6.1 Fixes & Contributors

  • Application crashes when browse to HD root directory in FILEOPEN Template dialog [Stephan Bergmann]
  • FileOpen pptx arrows are shifted to the left [Muthu Subramanian]
  • Don’t default to desktop pollution [Jan Holesovsky]
  • shlxthdl_x64.dll/shlxthdl.dll causes Windows Explorer to CRASH repeatedly when Flat ODF file is in view [Andras Timar]
  • FileOpen error reading “Content (TOC)” from a DOCX [Bosdonnat]
  • UI crash when edit LibO File Dialog Path Pane [Stephan Bergmann]
  • File SaveAs: Can not edit read-only file after SAVE AS [Stephan Bergmann]
  • FileOpen “CSV” import not correctly recognizing space and text field delimiters, i.e. web log file [Eike Rathke]
  • LO 3.6 crashes when saving complex ods as xls [Markus Mohrhard]
  • Install 3.6.1 RC 1 on 3.6.0 RC4, causes crash on startup [Stephan Bergmann]

Many of the issues resolved crashes due to file handling and although most users have not experienced the above problems, they were nonetheless reported as issues and therefore promptly fixed.
